What is 10-ONE?

The upcoming change for Austin municipal government to geographic representation, approved by voters Nov. 6, 2012, as Proposition 3, is commonly referred to as 10-ONE.

Under the Charter Amendment:

  • The Mayor will continue to be elected citywide.
  • The 10 other Council Members will no longer be elected citywide, but by representative district.
  • The Council is expanded from seven to 11 members, including the Mayor.
