Director of Elections, Michael Winn, Elected to Lead IACREOT

Travis County Clerk Director of Elections Elected to Lead International Association of Government Officials


Travis County Clerk’s Director of Elections, Michael B. Winn was sworn in as the 43rd President of the International Association of Clerks, Recorders, Election Officials and Treasurers (IACREOT) during IACREOT’s Annual Conference, July 18-24, in Bonita Springs, Florida. Winn has been employed in the Travis County Clerk’s Office since 1998. He currently manages the Travis County Election Division that conducts elections for 140+ jurisdictions and has more than 20 years of experience in government and community service organizations.

An IACREOT member since 2002, Winn has served in a number of key positions, including Director-At-Large for Election Officials, Secretary, 2nd Vice President and 1st Vice President. His work with IACREOT has demonstrated his ability for effective communication, team development and project management.

Winn seeks out organizations that promote understanding of multicultural activities of individuals and highlights the achievements and talents of all. He has completed educational programs, resulting in notable certifications from several professional organizations.

IACREOT was founded in 1971 and established its mission statement as follows: “IACREOT offers its members opportunities to exchange ideas, elevate standards through education, develop efficient ways to serve the public and promote the ethics of public service, while developing contacts in furtherance of our profession.”

Winn lives in Round Rock, Texas with his wife, Elizabeth and their two children.
