File a Document
File a Document
Documents may be filed with the Travis County Clerk’s Probate Division by eFiling, by postal mail, by courier, or in person at the Travis County Courthouse (addresses and hours of operation). We cannot accept faxed or emailed documents. There may be a fee for the service, and in most cases, these fees are not refundable.
You will be asked to file the original document with the Clerk. In some cases, you may be asked to provide copies. For example, when filing an application or petition, you may be asked to provide copies for each citation or notice to be issued.

In September, the Office of Court Administration is converting the State e-filing system from Texas.gov to TexFile
in Texas trial and appellate courts. We are planning to have this new e-filing system available for filers in civil and probate cases this fall.
The Texas Supreme Court has mandated that, beginning January 1, 2014, attorneys filing most documents in civil and probate cases must e-file those document. Other filers may e-file or file paper documents. We will continue to make document images available on this website.
