The Elections Division administers special, primary, and general elections in Travis County.
The Recording Division preserves documents pertaining to real property records including deeds and tax liens. This division also issues marriage licenses, keeps a registry of domestic partnerships, and records assumed name certificates (DBAs) for certain businesses.
The Misdemeanor Division maintains court documents and provides administrative support through the issuance of warrants, summons, subpoenas, and commitments. The County Clerk serves as the Clerk of the Court for the Travis County Criminal Courts at Law.
The Civil Division receives the filings for civil cases, prepares notices and citations, and maintains records associated with the cases filed before these courts. The County Clerk serves as the Clerk of the Court for the Travis County Civil Courts at Law.
The Probate Division issues citations, writs of execution, abstracts of judgment, letters of guardianship, letters testamentary, protective orders, notices, and other documents as required by law or requested by customers. The County Clerk serves as the Clerk of the Court for the Travis County Probate Court. This court hears issues associated with the estates of deceased persons, guardianships for incapacitated persons, mental health commitments, and eminent domain cases.
Commissioners Court Minutes. The County Clerk serves as Clerk of the Travis County Commissioners Court. The Clerk’s Office prepares the minutes of the meetings and maintains the documents presented during Court proceedings. The Clerk’s site also offers live and historical videos of Commissioners Court meetings.
